Duchess Catherine's nose. Penelope Cruz's lips. Keira Knightley's eyelids. This may seem like a random set of features, but they actually make up three of the most popular requests by the patients of facial cosmetic surgeon Julian De Silva, M.D.
The London-based doctor has kept a list of the most popular features his patients have requested over the past decade, including Angelina Jolie's cheeks, Selena Gomez's chin and Reese Witherspoon's skin. (We're not quite sure how people request a celebrity's skin, but to be fair, Reese is pretty freaking radiant.) He recently made a composite showing what all these features look like when you combine them into what he calls "the perfect face":
"You will often have a consultation with a patient who will present you with a picture of a well-known person and will say, 'I want to look like that.'" Dr. De Silva told The Mirror. "Obviously the challenge for me is to look at their facial proportions and advise whether this will be a good look for them after surgery. [Sometimes] we do have to amend the plans because there are limits to how far you can improve what nature has given you."
Of course, this "most desirable face" ascribes to all sorts of beauty standards and therefore isn't a well-rounded representation of beauty - there are so many folks whose faces are just as desirable but don't fit into this narrow mold. Still, it's fascinating to see which features people are requesting the most. Our only question: What would the "most desirable face" look like for men?
